No worries. Excepting High Flow, you were all very gracious toward the unaware. And slamming is sometimes acceptable; but imho it should be reserved for those who need instruction more than once.

And he did lighten it up with the 'tickling' threat... :-)

Slamming was referring to the number of potential replies anticipated. Even biligerent non-dead thread posters like me don't want to see anything of interest risk being lost.

If you'd seen his last tickling victim you wouldn't be joking around. ;-)

Welcome to the forum. Once you've been here a while you'll get to know there are some topics we just don't touch. And then you'll also see that there is some good natured banter too, even though some takes a whole pail of water just to cool 'em down.

I tried to keep it light....

Part of the problem is, we don't know who is who around here anymore...and that sucks.

Since you have edited your post and replied in kind, it is clear that you are one cool cat! Glad you made it!

peace unto you, hf.

Yup, definitely not an mp3 mobster :-) or any covert operative of any kind (I might fit into sdh's hilarious description now and then). Just a loving head with a few hundred shows in person and recorded (first- Spectrum 81). Spinner tribe.

see you at a west coast festival somewhere...!

It isn't even worth trying to record these streams. You still have a bunch of gaps between switching from one song to the next. Not good for second sets in particular. Editing and splicing the dead air is a pain in the ass. There are other places to download GD streams.

Just wait until the new Sirius channel launches this Summer. You can sign up for the satellite services and listen to them on line instead of using a microwave band antenna. There must be a dozen 3rd party programs that will record the sounds of music on your hard drive. Twenty years ago, you turned on the local FM station, put in some cassettes and recorded live Dead. Same thing here again.

Cutting out the crap with a wave editor and burning CDs is not hard. No need to even mess with this archive's library at all...
